PRACTICE REVIEW 2/12

Here is practice review for yesterday.

For tenors, you have to work a lot on your resonance and projection, and add some depth to your sound. Comment made by a senior says that you all sound like sops singing very low notes, which really shouldnt be the case, since you can reach the notes in real voice. During practice, just throw out your sound as much as possible.

Baritones:

The Wind:

You were quite ok during sectionals and combines, you know your notes well enough. During the time change just listen to the beat. For the high notes, if you can't reach, just go lighter. Do not blast the high notes, because it will kill the light sound portraying the Wind. Also, always keep that rounder mouthshape (etc the ween that seengs so loud a song). Look at the dynamics, you have to start adding them in.

Personent Hodie:

Hardest thing about this song is the lyrics, everything else is very straightforward, although you have to add a lot of depth and use a lot of support to make this song impressive.

Yagi Bushi:

Still getting lost at some parts, although there is an improvement.

De Profundis:

Go lighter.

Sorry for the very short post, i'm running out of time. Listen to the midi files!
